A Bolton man has been charged after police allegedly found a knife and brick tied into a bag, along with stolen items.

Vincent Place, 42, of Beechwood Street has been charged with possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon, shoplifting, and two breaches of a criminal behaviour order.

He is set to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court today (Friday, July 5 2024).

Police received reports that Place was in the town centre, which would be in breach of his CBO which he was given on 27 June 2024.

A police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged following an investigation by our Bolton South Neighbourhood Team.

“Vincent Place, 42, of Beechwood Street has been charged with possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon, shoplifting, and two breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order.

“He has been charged and remanded in police custody to appear at Wigan & Leigh Magistrates Court today (Friday, July 5 2024).

“Officers were made aware of Place being present in the town centre, in breach of his CBO which was implemented only one week ago on 27 June 2024.

“Upon attendance, he [was allegedly] found in possession of a knife and a brick tied into a bag, along with items believed to have been stolen a short while earlier. He was arrested and taken into police custody.”
