A man was due to appear in court after a number of police vehicles were reportedly damaged in the Nunsthorpe area.

He was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop and using threatening behaviour following the incidents. Jason Gladding, 33, of Columbus Way, Grimsby, was remanded in custody to appear at court today (Tuesday, May 21).

It comes days after Humberside Police issued a community alert to residents about vandalism in the area, saying: "Officers investigating criminal damage are appealing for information after several police cars were damaged between Thursday 9 May and Wednesday 15th May in the Nunsthorpe and surrounding area."

At the time, Chief Inspector Simon Duffield said: "We will not tolerate behaviour of this kind in our community, it is totally unacceptable." He added those incidents had taken seven police vehicles off the roads.
