Man chased and stabbed victim in Canterbury attack

A man chased and stabbed his victim in an attack in Canterbury. Rashaan White has been jailed for six years following his conviction last week.

White was arrested after the serious assault in Station Road East on September 29, 2023. The 22-year-old, of Wincheap, later admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was jailed for six years at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, July 5. Another man who took part in the assault, Joseph Agbata, who is also 22 and of Station Road East, was given a two-year suspended sentence for unlawful wounding for his involvement.

The assault took place shortly after 1am, when witnesses saw White and Agbata chasing a man along the road outside Canterbury East railway station.

In an attempt to get away, the victim got into a van of someone waiting nearby, leading the vehicle's owner to jump out and get into another van.
