Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa this summer.

Speculation has been rife about the future of first-choice shot-stopper Ederson after it emerged that there was interest in his services from the Saudi Pro League. Backup 'keeper Stefan Ortega signed a new contract until 2026 at the weekend which only served to fuel rumours.

It is now understood that City, along with Liverpool and Arsenal, are keeping track of the Portuguese international. According to the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Porto may be forced into a big sale in the summer transfer window and Costa has been earmarked as a candidate to leave.

City and Arsenal are believed to have sent scouts to monitor Costa but his signature will be costly. The goalkeeper is protected by a €75m (£63m) release clause so Porto will be keen to sell for no less than that figure.

Elsewhere, TeamTalk reports that Pep Guardiola may be looking to sell Matheus Nunes this summer. After joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer, the 25-year-old made 31 appearances in all competitions but most of these came off the bench.

It is claimed that Guardiola has 'lost all faith' in Nunes and is eager to sell the midfielder as part of a major reshuffle of the midfield. Former Leeds United man Kalvin Phillips is also expected to be sold this summer after enduring a difficult loan spell at West Ham in the second half of the campaign.

Guardiola is believed to be confident of keeping Bernardo Silva but is less confident about Kevin De Bruyne who is entering the final year of his contract and is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.
