Manchester City players returned to training on Wednesday ahead of an enormous week in their season.

The Blues were back at the City Football Academy after a few days off were awarded following their win over Wolves in what is likely to be the final break before the Premier League is concluded. City will prepare for the Fulham game on Saturday, and then it is back to Manchester to ready themselves for a return to the capital; they play Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday in their penultimate match of the league campaign.

By the time the players and Pep Guardiola are coming back to prepare for the visit of West Ham, they will know exactly how many points they need to clinch the Premier League title. It could be wrapped up at Spurs if Arsenal fail to beat United on Sunday and City win their games, although the expectation is that it will go down to the final day.

City made the most of a full week without a game before hitting Wolves for five on Saturday but Guardiola also made sure they had some time off after the Forest game and has done the same this time, with the players heading off to various parts of the country and beyond in their free time. “The manager is great at giving us a day off when he can," Rodri said last week.

“It is important to spend time with your family and friends when you can, go to a nice restaurant or go for a walk. All of these things can help you relax and feel rested.”

The players know that victories in their final three matches will see them make history with a fourth consecutive league title regardless of what Arsenal are able to do from their last two fixtures. Guardiola has no injury worries after the Wolves game and will hope to carry a fully-fit squad through to the end of the season.
