Man dies after accident at commercial premises in Scots town

A health and safety probe has been launched after a man died in hospital following a tragic accident at a commercial premises in a Scots town.

The 24-year-old man suffered injuries following a horror incident in Mauchline, East Ayrshire on Friday.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Friday, June 28 around 8.40am.

The injured man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for urgent treatment.

However cops have confirmed that sadly the man died on Wednesday, July 3 from his injuries.

The Health & Safety Executive have now launched a probe into young man's death. It is understood the man is from Largs, North Ayrshire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 24-year-old man who was injured at a commercial premises in Kilmarnock Road, Mauchline has died.

"Emergency services attended the incident around 8.40am on Friday, June 28, and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"He died on Wednesday, July 3.

"The Health and Safety Executive has been informed and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Executive said: "“We are aware of this incident and investigating.”
