Man dies in early-morning crash on road in Wrexham

A man has died following an early-morning crash in Wrexham county. North Wales Police are appealing for information about the one-vehicle collision in the Bronwylfa area near Rhosllanerchrugog.

The accident happened at around 7.30am on Saturday, June 22, and involved a silver Audi S3. Emergency services attended but despite their best efforts a 43-year-old man from the Wrexham area was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force said: “The man’s family have been informed and our deepest condolences go out to the man’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”

Shortly before 8am this morning, police announced they had closed a country lane from its junction with the B5426 Bronwylfa road, near Talwrn. The country lane runs past the Ty Mawr and Cae-llwyd reservoirs at Bronwylfa, near the foot of Ruabon Mountain.

Sgt Daniel Rees of the NWP Roads Crime Unit is now appealing for information about the collision. He said: “If anyone was in this area in the early hours of the morning on Saturday the 22nd of June and has either witnessed the collision, the events leading up to it or have dash cam footage of the vehicle, contact North Wales Police.”
