A man has died after a house fire in Hereford. Emergency services were called to reports of a blaze in Charles Witts Avenue at around 7pm on Thursday, July 4.

West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics arrived and found two people injured, including a man who suffered serious injuries. A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed the man sadly died at the scene.

A woman was also taken to Hereford County Hospital after being treated for smoke inhalation. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival we discovered two patients.

“One of whom, a man, was found to have suffered serious injuries in the incident. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him, and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“A woman was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation before being taken to Hereford County Hospital.”
