A man has died following a mental health-related incident at a Swindon address.

Police cars, ambulances, and fire engines attended Towcester Road in Coleview on Saturday afternoon, then cordoned off the area near Sywell Road and Nythe Road.

At least three police cars, three ambulance cars, and an ambulance were at the scene.

An air ambulance landed in a field near Gayton Way.

One police car remained parked on Towcester Road.

The county force later explained the reason for the callout.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "A man has died following a mental health-related incident in Towcester Road, Swindon.

"At around 4.30pm, we responded to an incident involving a 19-year-old man.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services he was declared at the scene.

"A scene has been set up to establish the circumstances around the man’s death.

"This remains in place while enquiries into the death continue, but it has been determined to be not suspicious.

"Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this sad time."
