A man is fighting for his life after falling from height in Canary Wharf. Officers and paramedics rushed to Hanover House near Westferry Circus at 1.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday, May 1) after fear for a person's welfare was reporrted.

At about 5pm, while emergency services were at the scene, a man fell from height. He was immediately treated by paramedics.

Police confirmed he had suffered life-threatening injuries. Pictures from the scene show an emergency cordon remains in place.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called to Hanover House, E14, shortly after 13.30hrs to reports of a fear for welfare. Officers attended the scene along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).

"Shortly before 17.00hrs, a man fell from height. He was treated by paramedics at the scene. His condition has been assessed as life-threatening. A scene has been put in place."
