Man fighting for his life after falling from pub window

A man in his 20s is fighting for his life after falling from a pub window in Cornwall. Emergency services were called to the Royal Inn in Par during the early hours of this morning (Thursday, July 11).

The victim fell from a window on Eastcliffe Road around 3.45am. He suffered a serious head injury as a result of the fall.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was rushed to Treliske Hospital. The casualty, from the St Blazey area was later transferred to Derriford Hospital. He remains in life-threatening condition.

CornwallLive has been told there is a cordon around the Royal Inn pub in Par, and there was blood on the pavement. The pub is closed today (except for hotel guests from 5pm), and a cordon is reportedly in place in the area as officers investigate the circumstances.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, but police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the man fall. A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 129 of 11 July."

A spokesperson for the pub said: "We would like to reassure our customers and the community in regards to the incident at The Royal Inn last night. It has been such a tragic accident and we wish for no one to be discouraged or not comforted by the event, as we have done everything in our power to help and to make the situation as comfortable as it can be at this moment in time. Our thoughts are with the family."
