Man 'fighting for his life' following 'altercation' on Scottish street

A man has been left fighting for his life after an 'altercation' with another man on a Scottish street.

The 58-year-old man was rushed to hospital on Monday morning, after the incident in Glenrothes.

Emergency services raced to Colliston Avenue at around 9.10am. The man was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where medics describe his condition as critical, reports the Daily Record.

Police have locked down the street with pictures from the scene shows officers standing guard, with a section of a car-park taped off.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10am on Monday, 22 April, 2024, police were called to a report of a man having been seriously injured during an altercation with another man in Colliston Avenue, Glenrothes.

“Emergency services attended and a 58-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
