Man Horrified After Discovering ‘Tooth’ In Tesco Pizza

A man was horrified when he tucked into a pizza purchased from Tesco and discovered a ‘tooth’ - which he thinks could belong to a disgruntled employee.

Todd Routledge, from Longton, Staffordshire, was enjoying the dish when he chomped on something hard - and soon discovered that it was half of someone’s tooth.

The 28-year-old was disgusted by the discovery, and took to the Facebook page to vent his anger - after carefully checking that all of his own teeth were still intact.

Todd, who works for Topps Tiles, claims that his initial thought was that the person cooking the pizza could have broken their tooth and then just carelessly spat it into the pizza.

He said: ‘I was just chilling out watching the soaps enjoying my pizza when I felt something hard, so spat it out.

‘At first I thought it might have been a bit of plastic or something, it was only when I washed it I saw it was a tooth.

‘The first thing I did was check that all of my teeth were still there and then I put the pizza in the bin - I was absolutely disgusted to be honest.

‘All I can think is that it’s someone who was cooking the pizza had broken their tooth and then just spat it into the food, it makes me feel sick.’

Todd also says that it was lucky that he made the discovery - instead of his two young children, who were at risk of choking on the tooth.

Todd’s fiancée Lauren Telford had purchased the BBQ chicken pizza in a £6 meal deal last Friday evening, from their local Tesco Extra in Longton.

But while Todd has vowed to stay away from the cheap pizza options, he says that the discovery won’t end his passion for the Italian dish.

A spokesperson for Tesco said: ‘There’s nothing more important than the quality and safety of the food we sell so we were concerned to hear of this incident.

‘We have been in touch with the customer and requested he returns the product to store so we can investigate with our supplier.’
