A man has been jailed following what police described as a "violent incident" at a bank on the Lincolnshire coast. Steven Trevor Nelson, 36, of no fixed address, was charged with criminal damage, racially aggravated common assault, and two further common assaults.

He was remanded into custody after an incident at Barclays Bank on Lumley Road, Skegness, on Thursday, June 6. Lincolnshire Police provided an update on Tuesday, June 11, confirming that Nelson was found guilty of all four offences.

He was imprisoned for 26 weeks and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154. Skegness local community beat manager, PC Billy Spence, said: "The offences committed were so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified by the court because of Steven’s flagrant disregard for people and their property.
