Man killed in West Lawn hit-and-run, police say
A pedestrian was killed while crossing the street in West Lawn in a hit-and-run Sunday night, police said.
The pedestrian, a 56-year-old man, was crossing South Pulaski Road eastbound on 64th Street at around 11:45 p.m. A red Toyota Camry, traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on South Pulaski, then struck the man and did not stop, according to police.
The man sustained major head and body trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Charles Mills by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
No arrests have been made, police said.
