A man has been hospitalised and left with serious facial injuries after being attacked in broad daylight in Basildon. Officers were called to reports of an injured man in Ballards Walk in Basildon around 9:15am on Friday (April 19).

Ambulance service colleagues took the man, aged in his 40s, to hospital after he sustained a facial injury. The suspect left the scene in a car.

He was described as a bald man in his early 40s. He was wearing a T-shirt and body warmer with light grey jogging bottoms. Essex Police believe there will have been people in the area who might have seen the incident.
