Man orders McDonald's cheeseburger with everything removed – but there's hiccup

Everyone knows their McDonald's order.

Whether it's a classic Big Mac, nostalgic chicken nuggets or an adventurous McSpicy, there's plenty of options to choose from. But even the most seasoned employees probably haven't seen anything like this.

That's because a man called Greg tried to order a triple cheeseburger with nothing in it. He didn't even want the patties or burger buns.

Taking on X, formerly Twitter, @greg16676935420 showed followers what he'd ordered. It read: "1 x Triple Cheeseburger. No ketchup. No pickle. No diced onions. No 1/10lb beef. No mustard. No regular bun. No American cheese. No salt... Hopefully they don't mess up my order (usually they do)."

The 'nothing' burger cost $5.49 (approximately £4.32). But the service fee was $3 (£2.36), tax was $0.42 (£0.33) and Greg tipped his delivery driver $11 (£8.65). This took the total to a bank-busting $19.81 (around £15.58) for pure air.

The delivery driver was understandably baffled by the request. They sent Greg a text asking if he'd made a mistake when placing his order.

"You good with that?", they asked, and Greg responded: "Perfect thank you". Greg then jokingly added: "Dan is on his way (thank goodness because I'm getting hungry)."

When the order arrived, Greg was frustrated and responded with two angry emojis. He told X: "The wrapper and…. A McCrispy box???????? I ordered a freaking triple burger, not a McCrispy. Somehow they still managed to screw up my order (not your fault Dan if you're reading this)."

Angered by the mismatched packaging, Greg gave McDonald's a two star rating. But he didn't reprimand the deliveryman, adding: "I can't stay silent about this (don't worry I gave Dan 5 stars)".

In the comments, people were confused by Greg's unusual experiment. One wrote: "$19.81 for air", followed by a crying with laughter emoji.

Another wrote: "As a dasher myself, an $11 tip (even on an order where you order something more filling) is a W [win]. Shout out to you for that. Hope McDonald's gets it right next time."
