'Man for the People': Pro Golfer Bryson DeChambeau Yells at Spectator Who Caught Ball Meant for Child

American pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau was hailed as a “man for the people” as he intervened to stop an adult fan running away with a golf ball he wanted to give to a child on the sidelines of the PGA Championship.

Video captured by Anthony Reynolds shows DeChambeau tossing a ball into the crowd, which he had meant for a young fan, as he walked off the 9th green toward the 10th tee on Sunday, May 19.

The video shows an older fan catch the ball instead of the kid and run off, but DeChambeau doesn’t let him get away with it.

“Hey,” he yells multiple times to get the fan’s attention, before chastising him with, “Come on, buddy,” as the ball is handed back to the child, who can be seen beaming.

Reynolds described it as a “great moment.” Credit: Anthony Reynolds via Storyful
