Man pronounced dead after requiring 'medical assistance'

A MAN has died following a medical incident in Boscombe.

A man in his 50s has passed away after requiring medical attention on Christchurch Road earlier today.

Road closures were put in place along whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

A police cordon was also visible from the scene.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 12.28pm on Friday 14 June 2024 of a man aged in his 50s requiring medical assistance in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth.

“Officers attended with the ambulance service and very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

“The man's death is not being treated as suspicious and his family has been informed. The coroner has also been notified.

“Our thoughts are with the man's loved ones at this difficult time.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 12:12am on Friday 14 June to an incident in Boscombe. We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, a first responder and an operations officer to the scene."
