Man Rescued From Rubble After Deadly Russian Attacks in Kharkiv

At least four people were killed and a dozen injured in overnight Russian drone attacks on Kharkiv, officials said, with one strike coming as rescue services were responding to a first.

Russia attacked Ukraine’s second city twice with Shahed-136 drones starting overnight, hitting two residential buildings, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said in a Telegram posted.

The second attack hit rescue services, killing three members of the State Emergency Services, he said. Twelve people were injured.

A 69-year-old woman was killed when a drone hit a 14-story building, partly destroying the upper balconies, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.

The national police force posted video showing the moment a man was rescued from a damaged four-story building in the city’s Novobavarskyi district. State broadcaster Suspilne reported that the man was a resident and had been under rubble but was able to ask for water before he was recovered. Credit: Ukraine National Police via Storyful
