Man Runs Up Downward Escalator as Strangers Cheer Him On

A man was filmed running up a towering downbound escalator in Las Vegas, Nevada, as revelers on the way to a nightclub cheered him on.

Footage filmed by Ianne Trochett on April 20 shows a smartly dressed man running up a “huge” escalator as people shout, “Let’s go! Run!” to encourage him.

Trochett told Storyful he was on his way up to the LIV nightclub inside the Fontainebleau Hotel & Resort in Las Vegas when he decided to film the escalators because they were “huge.” In the video he comments they look like a “stairway to heaven.”

He told Storyful, “Soon as the guy started running up, I just had to hype him up.”

The hotel’s South Lobby is home to a 68-foot-tall escalator that spans 150 feet in length and travels at 100 feet per minute, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Credit: Ianne Trochett via Storyful
