Man searching for girlfriend's lost phone gets trapped in rubbish chute
A man’s weekend was ruined when he got trapped in a rubbish chute while trying to locate his girlfriend’s missing phone.
Washington DC’s fire department had to rescue the man after he fell down the chute in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man ended up in the stinky situation after leaning back in to check if he could see the phone and fell down the chute.
DC Fire and EMS tweeted photos from the rescue operation, confirming the unlucky person was “conscious and alert”.

Rescue teams had to pump fresh air down the chute before removing the resident using a harness and haul method.
Washington, DC, Fire Spokesman Vito Maggiolo said the man called 911 using a phone from inside the chute.

Maggiolo added the man didn't appear hurt and was released at the scene.
It’s unclear if he found the missing phone.
