Man Sentenced for Aiming Laser Beams at Aircraft
A Somerset man has been jailed for four months after being convicted on two counts of directing a laser beam at an aircraft, Avon and Somerset Police said.
Andrew Wilson, a 53-year-old resident of Martock, Somerset, admitted the two counts on April 11 at Taunton Crown Court.
The first incident happened around 11:20 pm on August 3, 2022, when he targeted a helicopter flying over Yeovil, police said.
The second incident was around 11:55 pm on August 14, and it involved an Airbus A320 carrying nearly 200 passengers, police said.
