Man Shocked to Find Car He's Driving Isn't His After Discovering Stranger's Dog in Back Seat

A Montana man out on a pizza run was shocked to find a dog in the back seat of what he thought was his car. But it turned out he’d driven off in someone else’s of the same make and model, after the owner left her key fob inside.

Footage recorded by Vincent Zepeda chronicles his misadventure.

“Because of the situation with weather and circumstances of a busy life, I didn’t imagine for one second the vehicle that opened for me wasn’t mine. It wasn’t until I had driven off in the direction of my ex-wife’s apartment that I had a strange sensation about someone or something in the back of the vehicle,” Zepeda told Storyful.

In the footage, Zepeda can be seen pulling back into the parking space next to his own car, with the dog calmly waiting in the back seat.

“We have a silver Labrador that rides in the very rear of our red Honda CRV. For one very brief moment, I wondered if I had loaded her in the car for the quick pizza delivery trip. I hadn’t. When I saw the other owner’s key fob lying in the middle console, I instantly knew why I had gained such convenient access to a vehicle that wasn’t mine,” Zepeda added.
