Man stabbed in city attack as police launch CCTV appeal

A man was left with a serious stab injury following an assault in the Black Country. The victim, who is in his 30s, was attacked on Skinner Street in Wolverhampton, police have said.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment following the ordeal just before 7am on Sunday, June 30. The man is now recovering at home as police continue their investigation into what happened.

Officers have scoured through CCTV and have released an image of a man they wish to speak to. He may have useful information about what happened.

Sgt Rosie Thomas, from Wolverhampton CID, said "A man has suffered a serious knife injury from which he is thankfully recovering. But we won't tolerate such violence and we'd ask anyone who can help to get in contact."

A spokesperson for the force added: "We're investigating after a man suffered a serious stab injury in Skinner Street, Wolverhampton at just before 7am on Sunday, 30 June. The victim, a man in his 30s, is now recovering at home after receiving hospital treatment.

"Investigators have been carrying out extensive enquiries and have reviewed CCTV footage in the area. They would now like to speak to this man, as part of their on-going investigations."
