Man suffers head injury after gang attack in Tilehurst

Investigations into an assault are underway after a man in his twenties was attacked by a group of four offenders in Tilehurst.

The incident occurred at around 9 pm on Tuesday, July 2 on City Road.

It was reported that a group of four offenders assaulted the man before smashing the rear windscreen of his black Honda Civic.

The man suffered a head injury in the attack.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old boy from Reading was arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and possession of a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis, yesterday. He has been released on police bail until 23 September.

“This is believed to have been a targeted assault and there is not considered to be any threat to the wider public.
