Man suffers serious facial injuries after trio launch late-night bottle attack outside pizza shop

A man was left with serious facial injuries after being hit by a bottle during a gang attack.

The incident occurred outside of the Soprano’s Pizza Shop, on Wilson Street in Middlesbrough, when three males are believed to have assaulted a 30-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman. It took place around 4.30am to 5am on Monday, May 6.

The trio are reported to have attacked the pair by punching the woman in the nose and hitting the man in the face with a bottle. The two victims received medical treatment in hospital for their injuries.

Cleveland Police has now launched an investigation, asking any witnesses to the incident or anyone with information regarding the suspects to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 083108.
