Man taken to hospital after fire at Cambridge home

One person was taken to hospital after a house fire in Cambridge on Friday morning (April 26). Firefighters were called to Hawthorn Way shortly after 7.30am.

Crews from Cambridge and Huntingdon attended. They wore breathing apparatus and used hose reels to extinguish the fire.

They had returned to their stations by 8.37am. The cause of the fire was accidental.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.36am with reports of a fire in Hawthorn Way, Cambridge. We sent an ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle.

"A man was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further care."
