Manchester United are reportedly still attempting to sway Bayern Munich-bound Michael Olise into signing for the club.

With faith placed in Erik ten Hag to overcome the difficulties of last season, the backing of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS in the transfer market is going to prove vital for any progress. One transfer they had been linked with to kick off the summer in style was Michael Olise of Crystal Palace, however all signs have pointed towards the winger moving to Bayern Munich in a £50m deal.

But as that move is not yet set in stone, it is rumoured that United and other rivals are still doing everything they can to sneak in and snatch the Frenchman from under manager Vincent Kompany's nose.

That is the word of Sky in Germany with Florian Plettenberg stating that many teams, outright naming United as part of the claim, are hoping to complete a hijack. However, the reporter ultimately states that Olise's move to Bayern is the one he desires most over others; he will sign his five-year contract, and with both clubs involved committed to finalising details, it is not in jeopardy at this stage.

Time is therefore running out for United and any other suitors, with the 22-year-old due in Germany in the coming week to undergo a medical ahead of the switch.

When rumours first began, the other English rivals said to hold interest in Olise were Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. The former were said to have offered a financially competitive offer to Bayern's, though he rejected the Blues in favour of the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, United still have a question to resolve on the right flank of Erik ten Hag's attack. Currently, Alejandro Garnacho resides in that area, though he prefers the left wing spot.

Antony is his backup, though his 16 goal contributions over two seasons mean the Brazilian still has his doubters. Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood also remain linked to exits, so reinforcement could potentially be a requirement.
