Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in bringing centre-back Victor Lindelof to his new club Fenerbahce.

Mourinho arrived at the Turkish club earlier this month after conducting punditry duties at the Champions League final. As with any new manager entering a team this summer, the 61-year-old is looking to add to his squad.

According to Turkish media outlet Fotomac, Lindelof is on the radar of Mourinho after he purchased the Swede for the Reds in 2017. The centre-back has always been a solid option for United but he has not been the first-choice centre-back for Erik ten Hag since his arrival in 2022.

The defender is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and it is unclear where his future lies with Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire both ahead of him in the pecking order. With an extension beyond 2025 not certain, Lindelof may be interested in making the move to Turkey and the Reds could be interested in making it happen.

If he was to leave United, Mourinho would be an ideal manager for him to link-up with again as it is clear Lindelof has a lot of time for the Portuguese head coach. Speaking in 2019, the defender admitted he missed the legendary manager.

"He is, after all, one of the world's best coaches and he is supposed to have a job at one of the biggest clubs. I miss him in football,' Lindelof told Aftonbladet.

"He's a great coach and a great person, whom I owe a great deal. "It was he who gave me the chance here, who brought me into everything.

"I have all the respect in the world for him and appreciate everything he has said and done for me, from scolding to a hug. "Even if I did not agree, at the time…he has very great charisma, you had great respect for him. He's won everything. When he says something, you listen."
