Manchester United have been given an injury boost ahead of facing Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Red Devils have a nightmare situation in defence, with six senior defenders set to miss Sunday’s Wembley clash with the Sky Blues. Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are definitely ruled out and Jonny Evans is also a doubt.

But manager Erik ten Hag has been given a boost as Harry Maguire is expected to be fit to face Mark Robins’ side.

The centre-back suffered a thigh injury in United’s last match, against Bournemouth in the Premier League. And fears over his availability against Coventry increased when he wasn’t visible in training imagery released by the Red Devils this week.

But it is understood his absence was a precaution and he should be available to start against the Sky Blues.

Maguire managed to play the full 90 minutes against Bournemouth, with Ten Hag saying: "Harry Maguire had an issue in the first half and luckily for us he overcame and recovered from it.”
