Yahoo News Man who won 'life-changing' £100,000 Lamborghini prize crashed it just weeks later
A 24-year-old who won a £100,000 Lamborghini in what he claimed was a "life-changing" moment crashed his "pride and joy" just weeks later, it has emerged.
Grant Burnett was filmed spraying champagne when he won the Lamborghini Huracan from a 99p ticket through raffle firm Click Competitions.
But just weeks after his win, reports surfaced online that the 24-year-old from Falkirk, Scotland - who chose the supercar instead of £100,000 cash - had crashed it.
One image shared online appeared to show the "written off" vehicle with a crumpled bonnet and bumper while another showed some side panelling peeled away.
Burnett replied to the image of the crashed car saying it "wasn't his fault" before embarking on a Facebook rant hitting out at "jealous rats" who "probably will never own one".
He said the crash wasn't caused by him speeding but claimed "some cow" had hit the back of the Huracan and made it "spin out" of control.
Burnett posted an image appearing to show a scratch above the rear left tyre as proof but his photo failed to show the front of the vehicle, where commenters claimed the main damage was.
Grant then commented on a Click Competition Facebook post to tell mocking users he "wasn't at fault", claiming some had suggested he had crashed speeding at 150mph, which he said was impossible as the car "would have crumbled" if he had hit a barrier at that speed.
He wrote:"I wasn't at fault for the crash because some cow hit the back of the car making me spin out. Photo to prove to all the jealous rats."
He also replied to one person, saying: "I'm just glad I'm alright. Just a bit sore - though alive."
Click Competitions runs raffles with prizes including cash, cars and tech for low entry fees.
The company posted a video showing Burnett, who supposedly paid less than £25 to enter the raffle and buy 25 tickets costing just 99p each, being interviewed and spraying a bottle of fizz to celebrate.
Grant said at the time: "I can't even describe it, honest to god. It's life-changing and I was in tears because obviously I never thought I'd win something like that."
CJ, of Click Competitions, said: "It's sad to see anyone's pride and joy involved in an accident. Metal can be replaced and we are glad to see no one was seriously hurt."
