Manchester attack: Footage emerges of Salman Abedi outside his home

Footage has emerged of the Manchester suicide bomber in front of his home just a year before he launched his deadly assault on Manchester Arena.

Salman Abedi was filmed by his neighbour wheeling out the recycling bins in front of his Fallowfield home in July 2016 — the same address that was raided by police after he killed 22 people and injured dozens more.

It was unclear why the neighbour shot the footage of Abedi, who is apparently wearing a Djellaba and sandals.

Neighbours in the south Manchester suburb where Abedi lived, recalled a tall, thin young man who often wore traditional Islamic dress. But few said they knew him well.

A relative of Abedi said he may have been driven to extremism after seeing a friend fatally stabbed last year.

The relative, who spoke on condition of anonymity said the 22-year-old complained of being treated badly in Britain and was troubled why there seemed to be no outrage over his friend's slaying. She said Abedi believed it was because the friend was Muslim.

Abedi, who was born in England to parents from Libya, referred to Britons as "infidels" who "are unjust to the Arabs”, according to the relative.

She also defended him as "a great kid" and said he had no links to Isis or other militant groups.
