A Manchester legal firm is looking to expand on the back of a £12m finance deal.

Horwich Farrelly (HF) currently has around 800 employees across 11 offices but it is now looking at its next phase of growth, with support from the eight-figure loan from NatWest Group. The defendant law firm said the funding will underpin its mission to grow turnover, building upon its foundations and reputation in the legal and insurance sectors.

The business, which turned over £51m in the last financial year, provides legal support as a partner to large insurers and other commercial organisations and its client portfolio includes 19 of the Top 20 insurance companies. Based in Media City UK in Salford, the business carried out a full rebrand in 2022, including a new website and new vision to be “the most dynamic, customer focused law firm in the UK and Ireland”.

Aldo Palazzo, relationship director at NatWest said: “What sets Horwich Farrelly apart is their commitment to investing in technology, innovation and enhancing the customer experience. We are delighted to support the company’s growth ambitions and to provide the financial backing to fuel their expansion.”

Ronan McCann, CEO and managing partner of HF said: “NatWest’s expertise in the legal sector and their tailored financial solutions were instrumental in our decision to partner with them. With their support, we will be able to progress our growth trajectory while continuing to deliver exceptional service to our clients.”

The firm has offices in Belfast, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Sheffield, Southampton.
