Manchester United player ratings as Amad shines but Casemiro dire vs Arsenal
Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal on Sunday to make it back-to-back Premier League defeats.
The Gunners had not won at Old Trafford with fans present in 18 years. They took the lead in the 20th minute when Leandro Trossard slid the ball beyond Andre Onana from close range.
United pushed for an equaliser in the second half but they rarely tested goalkeeper David Raya. As Erik ten Hag fights to save his job, his side remain eighth in the table and are in danger of recording their lowest-ever Premier League finish.
Here are how the players rated.

Andre Onana
His errant kick led to the first goal though Casemiro and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were more blameworthy. Superb saves from Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice. 7
Diogo Dalot
Back at left back and embarked on a spirited run at 0-0 that could have ended more productively. Barely troubled by Bukayo Saka. 6
Casemiro
Played walking football for Leandro Trossard's goal, trundling out of defence. He should not have been playing there. 4
Jonny Evans
Acquitted himself respectably in more difficult circumstances. His wiliness helped keep Arsenal at bay until he came off injured again. 6
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Was struggling to keep tabs on Trossard before he was blindsided by the Belgian for the opener. Risk-aversive with his passing. 4
Kobbie Mainoo
An improvement on recent performances. Benefited from the presence of an outright defensive midfielder next to him. 6
Sofyan Amrabat
A diligent performance and the kind United possibly expected more often. His balance was much-needed after the Mainoo-Eriksen mismatch. 7
Amad
His first start in 886 days and performed so enterprisingly it remains mystifying why Erik ten Hag has started Antony and Omari Forson over him. 7
Scott McTominay
Captain on his return but he started in the wrong role. Struggled to do anything of note when he got the ball. 4
Alejandro Garnacho
A constant outlet but he was kept in check by Benjamin White in the first half and squandered an excellent opening in the second. Poor end product. 5
Rasmus Hojlund
His worst run of form at the worst possible time continues. Unnerved Arsenal on his debut but not this time. Should have come off earlier. 3
Subs
Antony
A downgrade on Amad. 5
Willy Kambwala
Came on for Evans. 6
Christian Eriksen
Late arrival. 5
Omari Forson
Also came on late. 5
Ethan Wheatley
Replaced Hojlund. 5
Manager
Inexplicably played Casemiro at centre back again when he had alternatives and it cost United. Finally redressed the midfield by starting Amrabat. 5
