A huge beer garden with the capacity to host 800 revellers is launching in Manchester city centre next week - just in time for summer.

One year on from opening, Diecast is launching its Summer Town Beer Garden next Thursday (May 23), which bosses say will be the city’s ‘biggest outdoor party space’. Billed as a ‘go-to destination’ this summer, the beer garden and all-day sun trap will have a Barbecue Kitchen as its centre.

The kitchen will serve up burgers, chargrilled hanger steaks, hot dogs, kebabs and chef’s specials whenever the sun shines.

A new Garden Bar will meanwhile be pouring Diecast’s famous daiquiris in flavours including piña coladas, pink lemonade and mango and passionfruit. Revellers can order the drinks as they come or mix and blend their own concoction.

The Ducie Street venue first opened in July last year with a Leno Ex Machina season dedicated to food and cocktails. The space was created by the team behind Ramona and the Firehouse - and before that the likes of the Albert Hall, Trof, The Deaf Institute and Gorilla.

The venue’s Rum Town Caravans can be booked in advance for up to 45 people.

Three years in the making, Diecast took over the former Presbar factory space between Ducie Street and Store Street. One of the highlights of the venue since its opening has been its frozen daiquiri dispenser - featuring a wide range of bold and distinct flavours.

Co-founder Dan Mullen told the M.E.N last year: “We want this to be the best venue in the world. That’s what we want. There’s another three years of development in this building, and we’re always changing, always innovating.

“The next stages will be really interesting, but that’s the level that we want to go to. We want to put our flag in, make a difference, do something that no one else is doing. Our entertainment, our music, our food, our drink, the overall offering; we get that right and we’ll do it."

Diecast is open five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday. The Summer Town Beer Garden is walk-in only while the Rum Town Caravans can be booked in advance for up to 45 people.
