The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal shares what he's most excited for in season 3

The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal has opened up about what he's most excited about in the upcoming season 3.

Season 2's finale saw Pascal's character Din accidentally claiming the throne of Mandalore by beating Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon and retrieving his lightsaber.

Despite Din's intention to just hand it to her, this development means that he and Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan will likely be forced into a confrontation.

When asked if he could tease anything about Din and Bo Katan's relationship after the fallout of the Darksaber twist, Pascal told Digital Spy: "I mean there wasn't really a fallout necessarily – sort of kind of an accident."

"Din picked it up and is desperate to give it back to her. But it has to be earned in a very specific way.

"I think what I'm most excited about as far as season 3 is concerned is what we get to see Katee do," before adding, "Yes! Boss Bo-Katan."

The third chapter will see Din and Grogu going to Mandalore.

Now considered an apostate for removing his helmet last season, Pascal's bounty hunter Din is keen on going back to his planet to restore his reputation, with Baby Yoda gladly tagging along.

Of course, it won't all be smooth sailing – a previous teaser saw Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) urging Din and Grogu to stay put for their own safety, but there's no doubt Din won't listen to that. He's got a reputation to fix.

The Mandalorian seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Disney+, where season 3 premieres on March 1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
