Police are hunting a man after a 26-year-old commuter was sexually assaulted on the top deck of a packed London bus.

The woman was travelling on a route 453 bus from Haymarket when a man sat next to her, police say.

During the journey, he sexually assaulted her, despite her attempts to push him away.

After the attack, he got off the bus at the next stop, thought to be London Road in Elephant and Castle.

The man is described as a light-skinned black or Asian man, aged in his 40s, of medium build, wearing a blue and white jacket.

Following the incident, which took place on September 17 last year at around 4.40pm, detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Command have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace.
