Man's body found in Peterhead street as police treat death as 'unexplained'

A man's sudden death in a Peterhead street is being treated as 'unexplained' by police.

Officers were called to the town's Back Street at around 3.25am on Monday, May 20 following the discovery of a body.

It is thought by police there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, with a report due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.25am on Monday, May 20, 2024, officers were called to Back Street, Peterhead, following the sudden death of a man.

"The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
