THOUSANDS of people across Worcester have already used the new Beryl Bikes since they came to the city a fortnight ago.

More than 3,100 people have registered to use the e-bikes in Worcester over the past two weeks.

Over 2,600 journeys have been recorded during that time, with cyclists travelling more than 8,000 kilometres around the Faithful City.

It means every cyclist using a Beryl Bike to get around Worcester will have travelled an average of 3 kilometres.

Beryl will see 175 e-bikes and 50 pedal bikes made available to hire from several bays across the city.

Around 35 bays have been installed across Worcester, with the promise of about 18 more in the coming weeks.

Anyone aged 16 or over will now be able to cycle between bays, however, anyone flaunting the rules and dumping the bikes on pavements will be hit with a £10 fine.
