Mariah Carey reveals humiliating encounter with Michelle Obama

Songstress Mariah Carey has shared a particularly embarrassing moment with the former First Lady, Michelle Obama.

Carey says she was felt ‘humiliated’ when she introduced her then two-year-old son Moroccan to Michelle Obama back in 2013. During the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, the then First Lady held Moroccan (nicknamed Rocky) on stage – only for him to ruin her dress by vomiting on her.

“Rocky spit up on Michelle Obama’s dress, and it was one of the most humiliating things that ever happened to me.

“She was like, ‘Thanks to you, I’ll never be able to wear this dress again, Rocky. So thank you,” Carey said in an interview with Andy Cohen on US cable channel Bravo’s series What What Happens Live!

And in the same interview, Carey owned up to accidentally stealing multi-Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep’s chair at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

“She had spoken to me when I did ‘Precious‘, and she was so sweet, and I was like, ‘I can’t believe that Meryl Streep was talking about my performance!” she said.

“So, when I sat in her seat, I was like, ‘I didn’t do that. Please say I didn’t do that!'”

“But she was like, ‘You can sit in it anytime!’ She was very festive. She was cool about it.”

Earlier this year Streep recalled the incident herself, and claimed Carey was ‘sucking up’ to acclaimed director Steven Spielberg.

“B***h stole my seat! There she was next to Spielberg, sucking up. I said, ‘No, no, stay there.’ I said ‘I’ll sit on your lap!'” Streep said in a January recording of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
