Marine Tracker Shows Cargo Ship Movements Before Bridge Collision

Tracking data showed a cargo ships movements before it collided with a bridge in Baltimore overnight causing its collapse on Tuesday, March 26.

An animation provided by Marine Traffic, a global ship tracking and maritime analytics platform, showed the Singapore-flagged container vessel Dali leave the Port of Baltimore, before turning in the Patapsco River and heading towards the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The ship stops in the animation once it meets the bridge.

The Dali ship was just minutes into its journey to Colombo, Sri Lanka, Marine Traffic data showed.

Dramatic CCTV footage captured the moment the bridge over Baltimore Harbor fell just before 1:30 am local time on Tuesday after a livestream showed a ship colliding with the bridge.

Baltimore City Fire confirmed to WBAL NewsRadio that rescuer crews were attempting to save at least 7 people believed to be in the Patapsco River. An unknown number of vehicles were in the water, the fire service said.
