Yahoo News Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni's Reunion Has 'Law and Order' Fans Overjoyed
Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni each marked a momentous personal occasion, and it had to do with two people who mean the most to them.
The actors may occasionally work alongside one another on Law and Order: SVU and Law and Order: Organized Crime, but the two took their longtime friendship off-screen to celebrate their kids' respective graduations.
Christopher's daughter Sophia (whom he shares with wife Sherman Williams) graduated college, and Mariska's son August (whom she shares with husband Peter Hermann), graduated high school at the same time. As a result, Mariska and Christopher got their families together to commemorate the life milestones with a sweet party at home, which Christopher documented on Instagram on June 10.
"Graduates Hugs," Christopher captioned a series of photos, featuring Sophia, August, himself, Mariska, Sherman, Peter Scanavino (who plays A.D.A. Dominick "Sonny" Carisi Jr. on SVU) and Isabel Gillies (who portrays his character Elliot Stabler's late wife Kathy).
Upon seeing Mariska and Chris celebrating their kids with a memorable group of loved ones surrounding them, fans immediately rushed to the comments to share how happy they were.
"Congratulations!!!!!! Literally the best family/Friend hang out," one person wrote. "What a beautiful celebration of the next generation. Congratulations to all," another penned. "What a sweet extended family you guys have! Congrats to the graduates!," a different follower added.
While Mariska didn't publicly acknowledge her son's academic achievement, she did share a funny moment that happened at the family party. As she and Christopher added a joint post on Instagram, folks could see the two stars dancing for the camera while their friend began to play the Law and Order theme song in the background.
"… Always at work @therealmariskahargitay," Christopher joked in the caption.
