All The Light We Cannot See, the new series starring Mark Ruffalo, has released its first trailer.

The four-part Netflix show follows the story of Marie-Laure (Aria Mia Loberti), a blind French girl and her father, Daniel (Ruffalo), who flee German-occupied Paris with a legendary diamond to keep it from falling into the hands of the Nazis.

On the run from a ruthless Gestapo officer (Lars Eidinger), the duo’s journey brings them into contact with a reclusive relative (Hugh Laurie) and Walter (Louis Hoffman), who shares a secret connection to Marie-Laure despite being enlisted by Hitler’s regime.

The tense trailer depicts the cat-and-mouse chase, with Hoffman’s Walter being entrusted to track down Marie-Laure and cease her rebellious radio broadcasts, though it seems he harbours thoughts not aligned with the ruling party.

In addition to the stacked cast, which also includes Andrea Deck and Marion Bailey, the crew also boasts some big names, with Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy directing a script from Peaky Blinders boss Steven Knight, who has adapted Anthony Doerr’s 2014 novel.

“Deftly interweaving the lives of Marie-Laure and Werner over the course of a decade, All The Light We Cannot See tells a story of the extraordinary power of human connection - a beacon of light that can lead us through even the darkest of times,” reads the logline.

All The Light We Cannot See won’t be the only time fans can see Ruffalo on screen later this year, with the MCU star set to feature alongside Emma Stone in the acclaimed new project from Yorgos Lanthimos, Poor Things.

The surreal fantasy-comedy follows Bella (Stone), a young woman who is brought back to life and subsequently sets off on a madcap trip across Europe to celebrate her independence. The film garnered acclaim upon its world premiere earlier this month, with its full release coming in December.

All The Light We Cannot See will stream on Netflix from November 2.
