Yahoo News Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Flight Risk’ Movie From Director Mel Gibson Lands Fall 2024 Release
Lionsgate announced theatrical release dates for upcoming titles starring Mark Wahlberg, Dave Bautista and Gerard Butler.
Marking Mel Gibson’s first feature as a director since 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge, Flight Risk hits theaters Oct. 18. The film has a script from Jared Rosenberg and counts Gibson as a producer alongside John Davis and John Fox for Davis Entertainment, in addition to Bruce Davey.

Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace star in the thriller focusing on a pilot (Wahlberg) transporting an Air Marshal (Dockery) and a fugitive (Grace) across the Alaskan wilderness on the way to a trial.
Lionsgate also announced that director J.J. Perry’s action-comedy movie The Killer’s Game is set to hit theaters Sept. 13. Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Terry Crews, Scott Adkins, Pom Klementieff and Ben Kingsley round out the cast for the project that has a script from Rand Ravich and James Coyne and is based on the book by Jay R. Bonansinga. Producers include Kia Jam, Andrew Lazar and Steve Richards.
Bautista stars as a prominent assassin who takes a hit out on himself after he is diagnosed with a terminal illness, only to find himself needing to battle the other assassins to help save his ex-girlfriend (Boutella).
Additionally, Lionsgate is planning to release Den of Thieves: Pantera on Jan. 10, 2025. The film, acquired in the merger with Entertainment One, stars Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Producing the project are Tucker Tooley, Alan Siegel and Mark Canton.
A sequel to the 2018 action movie Den of Thieves, writer-director Christian Gudegast’s follow-up features Big Nick (Butler) tracking down Donnie (Jackson) in Europe ahead of a planned heist of the world’s largest diamond exchange.
