Market waffles trader applies for alcohol licence

A market trader selling waffles has applied for a licence to sell alcohol and various roads in Watford, Rickmansworth and South Oxhey are set to be temporarily closed to allow roadworks to be carried out.

These are among the notices that can be seen in the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are four notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford, Rickmansworth and South Oxhey.

Watford Market – alcohol licence

A market trader selling waffles and hot drinks wants to start supplying alcohol.

Papa’s Goodies Ltd has applied to Watford Borough Council for a premises licence for Watford Market Bar & Grill Unit 8&9, Watford Market, Watford House Lane, Watford, WD17 1BJ.

If the licence is granted, it will permit the supplying of alcohol from 11am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.

Any representations must be made in writing to Watford Licensing Authority, Town Hall, Watford, WD17 3EX or at www.watford.gov.uk.

Various Watford and South Oxhey roads – temporary closures

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prevent vehicles from using the following lengths of road so works can take place:

- First Avenue, Watford from its junction with Fourth Avenue north westwards to its junction with A412 St Albans Road for a distance of approximately 474m.

- Biddenham Turn, Watford from its junction with First Avenue north eastwards for a distance of approximately 38m.

- Fourth Avenue, Watford from its junction with Third Avenue south westwards for its entire length.

- Heysham Drive, South Oxhey from its junction with Prestwick Road south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 380m.

- Foxgrove Path, South Oxhey from its junction with Heysham Drive south eastwards for its entire length.

If made, the order will take effect on July 8 and be valid for up to 18 months but restrictions will only apply at times shown at or near the roads.

Various Rickmansworth roads – temporary closures

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prevent vehicles from using the following lengths of roads to allow works to be carried out:

- Church Street, Rickmansworth from its junction with the A404 Batchworth roundabout north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Northway, a distance of approximately 449m.

- Skidmore Way, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Waters Way, a distance of approximately 38m.

- Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 34m.

- Talbot Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 68m.

If the order is made, it will take effect from July 8 and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times specified at or near the roads.

Sheepcot Drive – Watford

The county council intends to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using Sheepcot Drive, Watford from its junction with Westwick Place north eastwards for its entire length, except for access, to allow works to take place.

Additionally, vehicles will be prevented from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road while the works take place.

The order will come into force on July 8 if it is made and be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown at or near the road.
