Married At First Sight UK star Jay Howard reintroduced herself to her new found followers, revealing her real name for the first time. The Lancashire sales worker joined the 2023 season of the reality show, where she was married to Luke Worley.

The pair got off to a great start but were forced to leave the show after Luke got into a fight with fellow groom Jordan Gayle. They exited the show together as a couple but split up before the reunion.

In a post uploaded to Jay’s Instagram, the reality star revealed her actual name is Samantha. She also paid tribute to the friends she met on the social experiment show.

Jay wrote: “Single-handedly killing it …had some new followers recently so thought I’d reintroduce myself. My name is Jay, but my real name is actually Samantha. I was born with a difference, a surprise to my parents who had no idea until the nurse told them I’d lost an arm along the way.

“I grew up in Accrington and lived as normal a life a girl could live growing up with one arm in the 90s. Fast forward to 2023, I filmed a series called Married At First Sight UK. I had a bit of a bumpy ride and didn’t find my happily ever after, but what I did find was:

“An INCREDIBLE group of forever friends @ellamorganc @itstashajay @rozzdarlington @laurajayvaughan, a new sense of self-love and appreciation of life, all of you incredible lot who saw me on the telly and decided I was worth following (love you) - and a new calling, a sense of purpose to continue spreading disability and limb difference awareness wherever I go!

“Since appearing on MAFS, I’ve had incredible opportunities that I don’t for one second take for granted! These include but are not limited to: Presenting and performing at the Inclusive Awards with @victoriaekanoye - being invited to the House of Lords as part of their 100 Club for influential women, receiving an award of my own at the Power of Women 2024, becoming an ambassador @reachcharityuk, having my content go viral with over 8.6 MILLION views on one video, speaking on various tv, radio and topical podcasts about my journey so far and working with some incredible brands along the way…

“So what’s next? I’m having meetings for all sorts of weird and wonderful future work, I’m in the process of developing a project of my own that I can hopefully share soon, next month I’ve got some VERY exciting bits coming up… Oh yeah, and I’m going to be on the COVER OF A MAGAZINE.

“And that’s just what I can shout about right now… thank you for your support and for following along on my journey, I hope you carry on along for the ride. Thank you for everything @mafsuk @e4mafsuk @channel4 @e4grams @cplproductions @weirdpublicrelations.”

Some of Jay’s fellow MAFS co-stars shared messages of support in the comments. Terrence Edwards wrote: “Keep shining @jay_howard. You know I’m always proud of you.”

Shona Manderson said: “Smashing it so proud of you!” One of MAFS’ experts Paul C Brunson simply posted a rocket emoji in response. Rozz Darlington commented: “Smashing it all @jay_howard.”
