Martin Boyle isn’t on the verge of a move to Australia despite reports Down Under claiming the Hibs man is in discussions with Melbourne City with A-League rivals Perth Glory also said to interested.

Record Sport understands NO fee has been agreed with either side and that the duo can’t meet the 31-year-old Australia international’s wage demands. FTBL claimed in a report that Boyle is a free agent and "is currently in ongoing discussions with (Melbourne) City officials, having rejected their initial offer.”

But the winger still has another year on his Easter Road deal, although he has never hidden his desire to play in his adopted nation Australia. Boyle has played in Scotland for his entire career apart from a brief spell at Saudi Pro League side Al Faisaly.

On the prospect of playing in Australia one day, he said previously: “That's always been a part of my plan. I've committed to Hibernian for the next two-to-three seasons but I'm not getting any younger and I'd really like to experience playing over there. Hopefully one day in the future I can come out there and represent one of the clubs out there.”

Boyle start for Hibs in their 1-1 draw against Livingston on the final day of the Scottish Premiership and has been at Easter Road for nine years over two spells.
