Martin Lewis issues 'broadband and mobile' warning before deadline 'today'

Martin Lewis has issued a "broadband and mobile" warning and said: "Today." The BBC Sounds podcast host and presenter has spoken out on Twitter/X, issuing a rallying cry for broadband and mobile customers to send their questions to him on Wednesday.

Martin wrote: "Want to cut your broadband and mobile bills? That's the subject of my podcast / @bbc5live show today, so if you've a question on it, feel free to ask by reply as the producers will compile the common ones to cover..."

In reply, a Twitter/X user typed: "I'd like just to cut my outgoings. Made some bad decisions when on antidepressants and they are now coming to a head. Still want to pay each debt off and not go into a trust deed/IVA but unsure of options. Decent earner but just no headway right now."

And a second wrote: "It's a pain changing email address when moving BB provider. Can you recommend an alternate email service provider I can keep other than g-mail?"

And another posted: "Ahhh but there’s balance to the answer for example in my area virgin come up cheapest for the speed you get however the service terrible so it’s literally money down the drain. Really for reliability who is the best provider?"

Another chimed in to say: "Last month I switched both mobile & broadband and saved £54/month I got a deal on Smarty with exactly the same download plus better signal quality and switched from ultra slow Sky BB to high speed Hyperoptic on their social tariff"

"I can only get Virgin Media or BT everyone uses Virgin Media due the poor speeds offered by BT (5mb max) as Virgin has put up there prices and my discount is due to end soon they have sent renewal emails but the prices offered are more than what i pay currently," another reasoned.

"I asked Sky to match what they offered newbies at £29pm, spent a few hours online & the best they said was to reduce from £43 to £38, was £33 before contract finished, so I signed with BT/ee, now they're pleading for me to stay at £30pm, so declined," another said.
