Daredevil: Born Again has added Never Have I Ever star Genneya Walton to its cast.

The new Marvel series will see Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, with several familiar faces from the original Netflix show also back alongside new cast additions.

Among them will be Walton, who will reportedly play the role of a journalist with connections to a character from the Netflix series.

The actress may be familiar to fans as Lindsay Thompson from Never Have I Ever, and has also appeared in Candy Cane Lane alongside Eddie Murphy.

Her addition to the cast comes after filming pictures recently confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will be returning as fan-favourite characters Karen and Foggy in the Disney+ series.

Also returning are Wilson Bethel as Benjamin 'Dex' Poindexter/Bullseye, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher.

Meanwhile, Margarita Levieva is joining the franchise in an undisclosed role – though we do know her character will form a romantic connection with Murdock after filming stills show the two stars locking lips.

Recent production images have also given fans a first glimpse of Cox in his new Daredevil costume.

Filming on the series recently resumed after a pause last year due to the Hollywood strikes – and in that time Born Again has had a creative overhaul, notably with the departures of head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman.

D'Onofrio has since weighed in on the changes, telling The Hollywood Reporter: "During our restart of all the creative on Daredevil: Born Again, all the creatives got together and said: 'Look, this is how we've got to do it now.'

"So we are for sure only speaking about it in terms of being directly connected to the original Daredevil, and that's a great thing. It brings in a lot of cool stories and all the collateral story that happened in those original three seasons."

Daredevil seasons 1-3 are streaming on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again is due to premiere in 2024.
